In the summer of 2000 we decided to go on a three week cycle tour through Belgium and the northern part of France. Unfortunately, the holiday ended after one week and 650 kilometers due to extremely poor weather conditions. (route in blue on map)

So in 2001 we tried again and, as you can see, we managed to clock more than 1700 kilometers in four weeks time (route in red on map). The weather was pretty good (just two days cycling in the rain), especially when we got to Verdun. From that time onwards, there was only sunshine (and Son-shine) with temperatures in the high 20's (ºCelcius). Have a look at our photos here.
